How does one date this wrist watch or any wrist watch if the book obviously can't list every single datch that was made? What guidelines should be or could be followed for narrowing at least the decade of a watchs' manufacture period? Thanks in advance for your help, Elaine. Elaine Elaine, Hamilton did not manufacture an automatic wristwatch in the US. To be able to compete with other companies, they began importing Swiss movements and eatch them here. In the mid ' they purchased theBuren watch Company plant in Switzerland and manufactured their thinline automatics and other styles of automatics. I believe the k was one of their Buren mfg watches. There is no way to exactly date the watch, but it is safe to assume that it is ' vintage.
By the way, I have 4 of the Swiss Hamiltons--nice watches and good sturdy dating hamilton wrist watch and timekeepers. Elaine The movement is based on a Kurth Freres, Certina movement. Elaine I love those watches! The best still affordable watches out there! Everyone HATES them it seems and many do not even acknowledge them as TRUE Hamiltons.
